Before working with Heather, I was enjoying my role as Head of Retail, exceeding budgets and objectives but also thinking about potential barriers for making my next career move. The internal feedback I received was positive but there were some softer skills required to enable a smooth transition into a more senior role.
I worked with Heather for 12 months, gaining a deep insight into confidence, power dynamics and conversation structures plus much more. The programme conclusion coincided with my new appointment as Managing Director for one of our subsidiaries. Heather’s supportive, challenging and thought-provoking sessions enabled me to develop and refine key skills which I believe were a significant factor to my successful appointment. I will be continuing my work with Heather as I integrate myself into the new role and organisation.
If you’re on the fence about working with Heather, the quick answer is – do it!!! I would also encourage anyone to be really open about their self-development, take time to reflect on prior life events and journeys right back to your childhood to help Heather shape a suitable programme. Secondly, be open-minded to be challenged about ways of working, views, styles and approaches to a multitude of scenarios. Finally, be selfish and dedicate time; you must be prepared to take the sessions back into everyday life, practice new techniques, reflect on your own feelings and learnings and use Heather to continually challenge you in a positive way!
